Samsung’s latest One UI 6 Beta is extending its reach, embracing not only the newest foldable devices, Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5, but also their predecessors, Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4. Surprisingly, another device, the mid-range Galaxy F23, is joining the beta program in South Korea.

One UI 6 brings an array of exciting features and improvements. Users can expect a revamped Quick Panel and new AI enhancements for the Gallery, such as Photo Remaster and Object Eraser. Additionally, Samsung Studio, a multi-layer video editor, allows users to add text, stickers, and music to their videos. Camera widgets have been updated, offering customizable quick access to specific camera modes.

One of the more intriguing changes in version 6 revolves around multitasking. When working with a pop-up window, it no longer gets minimized when you access the Recent apps screen, making multitasking smoother. Another enhancement allows you to easily drag and drop items on the home screen using both hands, a practical feature for the larger internal displays of the foldable devices.

While these updates have begun their journey in South Korea, there’s no official word on when they’ll reach users of the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 outside of Korea. Notably, the One UI 6 Beta has so far rolled out exclusively in the US and India.

The inclusion of the Galaxy F23 in the beta program is unexpected. This device, a variant of the Galaxy M23, shares nearly identical hardware. Launched with Android 12, the F23 received the Android 13 update in December last year. This suggests that the M23 version shouldn’t be too far behind in receiving the latest update.

For those eager to try the new features, you can prepare by installing the Samsung Members app. It will be the gateway to applying for the One UI Beta Program. When the beta becomes available in your region, the app will notify you. However, it’s worth considering whether you’d like to be an early adopter with the beta or wait for the stable release.
